Sarah Ulph Advanced Paramedic Practitioner

Gender: Female

About me:

I recently joined The Red Practice in July 2026, bringing with me over 15 years of NHS experience. I began my career with the Northeast ambulance service in 2008 and qualified as a paramedic in 2011. During my time in the ambulance service, I worked on frontline ambulances and rapid response vehicles before moving into pre-hospital critical care, where I cared primarily for patients with major trauma. I was also a member of the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), responding to complex and high-risk incidents until leaving the ambulance service in September 2022.

Since then, I have worked in primary care and urgent care, with roles in a GP practice in Fulham as well as an urgent treatment centre and acute illness clinics. These roles have allowed me to build on my emergency care background while developing my assessment, diagnostic and management skills across a wide range of acute and long-term conditions. I am currently studying for a master's in advanced clinical practice to further develop my knowledge and clinical practice.

As an advanced paramedic practitioner, I assess, diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of acute and long-term health conditions. My role includes carrying out clinical assessments, requesting and interpreting appropriate investigations, prescribing medications where appropriate, developing management plans, and referring patients to specialist services when needed. I enjoy helping patients understand their health, supporting them to make informed decisions and working closely with colleagues across the practice to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.

I enjoy the variety that primary care offers and the opportunity to support patients with both new and ongoing health concerns as part of a multidisciplinary team. Outside of work, I enjoy eventing with my horse, training at CrossFit, and spending time outdoors with my two cocker spaniels.
